Hey Sarah! I’m trying something new with my image review process. This page is unlinked and not accessible from the homepage of my website. I think it’s better than asking someone to download a bunch of unfinished images.
I’m looking for feedback at an earlier stage than I normally would because each shoot is very labor intensive (even just squeezing into my wetsuit is a workout these days). I’m also losing access to the quality of ocean water I need to shoot, and the flowers I’ll have access becomes limited the further into fall/winter we go.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on what images are stronger than others (there’s obviously some major culling that needs to happen). Mostly though, in a broader sense, I’d love to hear what you think is working for the series… and if there’s anything you see that ISN’T WORKING (e.g. “Stop trying to make bouquets work, Caleb.”)
The idea with the ones at the end (Starting at #43) where it’s a little less obvious that they’re underwater — I want the viewer to have to look extra closely to see the bubbles or any indication that they’re actually underwater. I think that these can act as a transition from these flowers and make it possible for all of my flowers to be shown in the same gallery/exhibit/book.
Note that these are NOT final edits/color treatments. If viewing on mobile, you may have to turn your phone/tablet sideways to see the image number appear on the bottom of the image. Best viewed on a desktop browser.
I really appreciate you looking and giving me your opinion!
Xoxoxo
